Welcome to TheGardeningDad!
My name is Paul. I am a dad. And I love gardening. I am TheGardeningDad.
TheGardeningDad educates Dads (and Moms!) on how to grow, garden, and feed their families in a simple, easy, and cost-friendly way!
I am your average guy. I am in my mid-thirties. I have a wonderful wife, a 2-year-old daughter, and a 4 year Australian Shepherd. I work a 9 to 5 job. And I absolutely love spending all my free time
I love everything about gardening. I am a fourth generation American gardener (and before that my family had gardens in southern Italy) who
I have almost 20 fruit trees, a large vegetable garden, several raised herb gardens, numerous berry bushes, and a greenhouse. I am also lucky enough that my daughter and dog love helping out!
So why did I start this blog?
I love it and it’s fun!
I love gardening. I love sharing gardening ideas with new friends and family. I love writing. And I love watching others have fun and success at gardening.
In a hectic world where we can blink and the year is over, I love helping others take relaxing and enjoying a fun hobby.
Just as important, I love promoting a hobby that cannot only benefit you and me but everyone around us. The look on a neighbor’s face makes my day any time I can share my vegetables and fruit with them.
Finally, there just aren’t enough good websites that can help the average gardener. And since I am the average gardener then who better to help others like me!
My goal is to own a fruit orchard near our National Park. I was inspired by a recent trip to Capitol Reef National Park where you can walk up and eat fruit right off the trees for a small donation.
My ultimate vision is that this will be an orchard where people can stay in a small lodge and enjoy the fruits of the orchard.
Where to Start
Take some time to browse all my posts to see what fits your needs the most.
If there is something you really want to learn about let me know and I will post it.
While my blog is geared for all types of gardeners, I especially enjoy vegetable gardening. I personally would start at How To Grow Tomatoes: From Seed to Harvest
Thanks for gardening!
